Go Biblical Study Tours
Are you ready for a trip of a lifetime?
In 1998, I was introduced to Biblical Study Tours while serving Israeli and Arab Christians through Student Camps. After several years of participating, a good friend in Israel suggested I start leading my own Biblical Study Tours; the rest is history. I have been leading GO Biblical Study Tours for almost two decades, hosting hundreds of pilgrims to the Holy Land and most recently Greece and Turkey. A GO Biblical Study Tour is a trip of a lifetime you will never regret taking.
GO Biblical Study Tours are not your run-of-the-mill mass-marketed Trips; we keep our groups under 55 people, see more biblical sites than other groups, and prioritize being out in the land and on location. We don't sit on the bus and point; we engage the culture, context, and geography in which God's Word was written. You will receive scholarly teaching, historical information, and missional application. The goal of GO Biblical Study Tours is for information that leads to transformation. Our desire is not you have a great trip, but that God ignites a passion for carrying on Acts 29 as you return home committed to living on mission as a disciple who makes disciples.

Go Greece/Turkey- Journeys of Paul 2026 TRIP is HERE! - Oct 17-26
Join us for a nine-day, Scripture-rich journey tracing the footsteps of the Apostle Paul across Greece and Turkey. This biblical study tour is designed to bring the New Testament to life as we walk the ancient roads, stand in the ports, and open God’s Word in the cities where the gospel first took root in Europe and Asia Minor.
Each day will be shaped by careful engagement with the text, on-site teaching, and guided reflection as we consider how God advanced His mission through faithful witnesses living in complex and often challenging cultural contexts. Our aim is not simply to learn more about the Bible, but to better understand the mission of God—and to return home strengthened and sent, committed to living on mission as disciples who make disciples.
Cost $5300 - This includes all meals (excluding lunch), airfare from most major U.S. Airports, 4.5-5 star accommodations. See the detailed itinerary below.
GO Greece/Turkey Biblical Study Tour (Oct 17-26th, 2026) Journeys of Paul
Sat, Oct 17th
Flight and Travel
Sun, Oct 18th - Arrival in Thessaloniki
Arrive at Thessaloniki’s Makedonia Airport, meet your guide, and begin an orientation tour of this historic port city, bridging the ancient and modern worlds. As we explore key landmarks of Thessaloniki, reflect on its significance as a major Roman city along the Via Egnatia and a strategic center for the spread of the gospel. Time permitting, visit the ancient city walls, originally constructed in the Hellenistic period (c. 167 BCE) and expanded in later centuries, reminders of a city accustomed to both prosperity and opposition. Recall the account of the hostile mob that sought to seize Paul and Silas at Jason’s house, forcing the believers to act courageously and wisely (Acts 17:5–9). Consider Paul’s pastoral words to this young church—calling them to steadfast faith, holy living, and hope rooted in the resurrection, “so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; cf. 1:6–10). Enjoy sweeping views of the Thermaikos Gulf, imagining the ships that once carried the gospel across the Aegean. Conclude the day with a walk along Thessaloniki’s vibrant seaside promenade and a visit to the White Tower, a lasting symbol of the city’s layered history and enduring influence. Check in at the Grand Palace Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Mon, Oct 19th - Philippi & Kavala
From Thessaloniki we will travel to Philippi, a UNESCO World Heritage site and key city in the Roman province of Macedonia. It was here Paul responded to a vision of a Macedonian man calling for help (Acts 16:9). We will visit the location near the river where Paul and his companions found a place of prayer on the Sabbath, encountering Lydia, the first European convert to Christianity (Acts 16:12-13). Explore the Roman ruins of Philippi, including the amphitheater, forum, baths, city walls, and Early Christian Basilicas. Reflect on Paul’s letter to the Philippians reminding them, “Our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20). Stand at the site believed to be Paul’s prison, where a miraculous earthquake freed him and Silas, leading the jailer and his family to faith and baptism (Acts 16:16-40). Learn about their release and Paul’s lasting connection with the Philippian church. This significant stop highlights Paul’s ministry and the deep affection of the Philippian believers for their teacher and friend. After the visit, we will pass by Kavala, the ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:11) where we enjoy a panoramic tour before returning to Thessalonica for dinner and overnight in Grand Palace Hotel.
Tues, Oct 20th - Berea & Vergina → Evening Flight to Izmir
Travel to Berea (Veria), a city renowned for its connection to the Apostle Paul during his second missionary journey. Visit the Bema of Paul, a beautiful monument marking the spot where Paul preached to the Jews and Gentiles who were "more noble" in their eagerness to receive the Word (Acts 17:10-11). Stroll through the Old Jewish Quarter, reflecting on Paul’s time in Berea as he engaged the synagogue and strengthened the early Christian community. Paul commended the Bereans for examining the Scriptures daily to confirm his teachings, a practice that inspires believers even today. Continue to Vergina, the ancient capital of Macedonia, and tour the remarkable underground museum featuring the royal tombs and their artifacts. Transfer to the airport for an evening flight to Izmir. Overnight at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
Wed, Oct 21st- Izmir (Smyrna) → Kusadasi
Arrive in İzmir, the modern city built upon ancient Smyrna, one of the seven churches addressed in the book of Revelation. Walk the remains of the ancient agora, reflecting on Smyrna’s role as a prosperous port city deeply devoted to emperor worship and pagan religion. Consider Jesus’ words to the church in Smyrna, a congregation marked not by comfort but by suffering and faithfulness: “I know your affliction and poverty—but you are rich” (Revelation 2:8–11). Reflect on the call to endurance, faithfulness unto death, and the promise of the crown of life. Smyrna reminds us that the gospel often advances not through cultural power, but through persevering witness in the midst of opposition. Continue south to the resort town of Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight at the Korumar Deluxe Hotel.
Thur, Oct 22nd - Patmos Day Trip
Begin with a very early ride across the beautiful and stunning Aegean Sea to Patmos, a serene island with profound biblical significance. Explore the Cave of the Apocalypse, the traditional site where John received the visions recorded in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 1:9-11). Reflect on John’s exile and his unwavering faith during this time of persecution. Visit the Monastery of St. John, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1088. Admire its stunning architecture, ancient manuscripts, and Byzantine icons, which connect the spiritual and historical legacy of this sacred place. Pause to meditate on Revelation’s themes of hope, perseverance, and the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom, written to encourage the persecuted early church. Stroll along Skala, the island’s main port, to experience its peaceful atmosphere and connect with the simplicity of life on Patmos. Take time for personal prayer and reflection, revisiting the island’s sacred sites or enjoying a sunset over the Aegean, much like John may have witnessed during his time on the island. Dinner and overnight at the Korumar Deluxe Hotel.
Fri, Oct 23rd - Ancient Ephesus → Flight to Athens
Begin with a guided tour of Ancient Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities and a key site of Paul’s ministry. Highlights include: The Library of Celsus, symbolizing the city’s intellectual and cultural prominence. The Grand Theater, where Paul boldly proclaimed the gospel despite opposition from silversmiths worshiping Artemis (Acts 19:23-41). Visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, reflecting the spiritual challenges Paul faced in a city devoted to idolatry. Explore the transformative impact of Paul’s three-year ministry in Ephesus, during which he preached, discipled believers, and wrote to strengthen the church (Acts 19). We will close the day considering Paul’s heartfelt farewell to the Ephesian elders (Acts 20:17-38), Dinner and overnight at the Divani Palace Acropolis.
Sat, Oct 24th – Corinth Canal, Ancient Corinth & Cenchrea
Begin with a stop at the Corinth Canal, a striking engineering marvel connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Reflect on how this strategic location made Corinth a major commercial hub during Paul's time. Ancient Corinth: Explore the ruins of Ancient Corinth, where Paul spent 18 months preaching the gospel and establishing a church (Acts 18:1-11). Highlights include: The Agora, where Paul’s trial before Gallio likely took place (Acts 18:12-17). The Temple of Apollo, a reminder of Corinth’s idolatrous practices that Paul addressed in his letters. The Bema, the platform where Paul stood trial and courageously defended the gospel. Cenchrea – A Gateway for the Gospel the eastern port of Corinth, from which Paul set sail for Ephesus (Acts 18:18). Reflect on Paul’s act of cutting his hair here as part of a Nazarite vow, symbolizing his dedication to God. Port Walk: Stroll along the ancient port ruins and consider the role of Cenchrea as a hub for early Christian mission work. Reflect on the mention of Phoebe, a deaconess of the church in Cenchrea, in Paul’s letter to the Romans (Romans 16:1-2). Dinner and overnight at the Divani Palace Acropolis.
Sun, Oct 25th - Athens: Acropolis, Mars Hill & Ancient Agora
Begin your journey at the Acropolis, Athens' most iconic site. Walk through the ruins of the Parthenon and other ancient temples, reflecting on the city's cultural and philosophical prominence during Paul’s time. Mars Hill (Areopagus): Stand where Paul delivered his famous sermon to the Athenians, proclaiming the "Unknown God" as the one true God (Acts 17:22-31). Reflect on Paul's boldness in engaging a diverse audience of philosophers and seekers in the very heart of intellectual thought. Visit the Ancient Agora, the bustling marketplace where Paul reasoned daily with those who happened to be there. Explore its ruins, including the Temple of Hephaestus and the reconstructed Stoa of Attalos, gaining insight into life in ancient Athens. Dinner and overnight at the Divani Palace Acropolis.
